At the beginning, Romain De Véra worked in an IT services company as a software architect, where he designed innovative products. With an entrepreneurial mindset, he eventually decided to take the leap and start his own business. He first created Active Développement in 2009 with his partner Jérôme Lepotier, but later decided to dedicate himself fully to his own venture: TimActive was born in 2012.

The company started by creating online stores and developing public modules sold on the market. The sales exceeded expectations — customers appreciated the quality of the products. These modules are still available today and are used by more than four thousand users. Over time, TimActive began collaborating with contractors who are now part of the core team: Matthieu, UX designer, Erwan, AI expert, and Christophe, cybersecurity expert.

The year 2022 marked a real turning point for the company. Romain felt the need to have a physical team and a dedicated workspace. He therefore began renovating a building to create TimActive’s first real offices. He hired Julie, administrative assistant, and Alyster, web developer. In 2024, the team grew with the arrival of four apprentices — three in development and one in marketing: Célestin, Yvann, Yanis, and Elena.

TimActive offers a wide range of services: complete design and redesign of online stores from A to Z, development of custom features and modules, creation of SaaS solutions, website hosting, and expertise in artificial intelligence. The company’s strength lies in its expertise and know-how built over more than twelve years. TimActive doesn’t just create surface-level solutions — it develops them from the ground up, using multiple programming languages and building entire architectures when needed. Its services are designed for businesses managing millions of visits and orders on their online stores. By focusing on quality and scalability, TimActive ensures both performance and reliability for its clients.

TimActive uses a wide range of tools and technologies to develop its solutions: CMS (PrestaShop, Shopify, Joomla), programming languages (Python, Java, Golang, Node.js, Vue.js), and optimization tools (Kubernetes, Kafka, Keycloak, MySQL, Longhorn, AWS, GitLab, Quarkus, Docker, AngularJS…). Project management at TimActive follows an agile approach: the team holds a daily meeting every morning, with the client invited to join if they wish, to review progress, plan the day’s work, and discuss any blockers. A weekly sprint planning session is also held to define and prioritize the tasks for the upcoming week.

The TimActive team, composed of six people working on-site, is passionate, caring, and collaborative. Hiring apprentices allows Romain to share his values and expertise — something that truly matters to him.
